Political Action Committees

A Political Action Committee ("PAC") is a political group that is not formally related to a particular political party but is often associated with another group such as a labor union, corporation, or trade association. PACs try to influence elections and candidates by making political contributions and promoting its views on selected issues. PACs may be set up by a corporation in order for eligible employees and stockholders to participate in federal, state, or local elections because applicable laws often prohibit direct corporate contributions made in connection with influencing federal, state and local elections.

Our Political Compliance team has extensive experience in federal and state elections law, lobbying limitations, and campaign finance regulations.

The Team can also advise individual, corporate, and government clients on issues pertaining to compliance with state and federal lobbying laws, establishing and administering Political Action Committees, providing advice regarding corporate and individual political contributions and activity, and representing political candidates and committees on registration, reporting and other compliance matters.
